The Keene City Council's municipal services, facilities and
infrastructure committee voted Wednesday to recommend encouraging
Concord legislators to legalize medical marijuana while decriminializing
a minimimal possession of the drug for personal use.
The vote — which will now go before the full city council — came
after a letter from former city councilor and former Keene police
Detective Frederick B. Parsells urging this action.
Also at Wednesday's meeting, the committee voted unanimously to
recommend creating an ad-hoc committee to discuss future alternative
locations of the Gilbo Ave. skate park after concerns of crime and
behavioral problems in that area.
